    Meg Ciaccio Brooker, DVM
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Margaret Ciaccio Brooker graduated from the University of Vermont before completing her veterinary degree at Tufts Veterinary School in 1992.

    Meg owned her own clinic in Old Forge, New York, where she had the opportunity to treat many different animals, from cats and dogs to cows, horses, and wildlife. After returning to her hometown in Rochester, New York, to be near family, she joined Canfield Vet as an associate veterinarian in 2000. In 2010, Meg became the Canfield Vet owner.

    Meg shares her home with daughters Kate and Gretchen, Lucy an Australian shepherd, and Sage a yellow Labrador retriever. She enjoys spending time at her family's camp in the Adirondacks skiing and hiking.

  • Barry Brown, VMD
    Barry Brown, VMD
    Veterinarian Emeritus

    Dr. Brown grew up in Trenton, New Jersey. He graduated first in his class from Trenton Central High, received a B.S. with honors from Rutgers University and his veterinary degree (VMD) with high honors from the University of Pennsylvania.

    He received a post graduate certificate of small animal internship from Cornell University. Barry was a staff member and managing partner at the Animal Hospital of Pittsford for 22 years before opening Canfield Vet in 1995. Barry's distinguished veterinary career ended when he retired in February 2014.

    Barry and his wife, Pat, have two daughters, two son-in-laws, four grandchildren, two dogs, one cat, and one horse. The Browns like to eco-travel, volunteer, landscape, and spend time with their family, pets, and friends. Pat spends much of her time with Canfield Vet financials and EquiCenter, a family-started therapeutic riding facility for people with disabilities.

  • Ann Hill, DVM, DABVP
    Ann Hill, DVM, DABVP
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Ann Hill joined Canfield Vet in June 2014. She comes to Canfield from Amherst Small Animal Hospital in Snyder, New York.

    Dr. Hill has a B.S. in biology from Fordham University and earned her DVM degree from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Pittsford Animal Hospital.

    Dr. Hill is a diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) and is certified as a canine and feline specialist. This represents a commitment to practice the highest quality veterinary medicine and surgery. Certification is both rigorous and demanding. There are only 900 ABVP diplomates in the entire world. 

    Dr. Hill has a special interest in the care of geriatric patients. Dr. Hill served four years on the Board of the Buffalo Academy of Veterinary Medicine. She also served as the continuing education chair for the Genesee Valley Veterinary Medical Association.

    Dr. Hill and her husband, Andre, live in the Rochester area and have a daughter, Angelica and a dog, James. She enjoys yoga, pilates, walking, and reading.

  • Dr. Katie Zink
    Katie Zink, DVM
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Zink joined Canfield Vet in July 2016. She came to Canfield following ten years of practice at Chili Animal Hospital.

    Dr. Zink holds a B.S. in biology and science education from Syracuse University and earned her DVM degree at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Zink was awarded the Genesee Valley Veterinary Medical Association's (G.V.V.M.A.) Veterinarian of the Year and the Presidents Award in 2013. She is very active in G.V.V.M.A. and has held the offices of ethics chair (2014-15), president (2012-13), and treasurer (2008-10) in addition to serving on the board in past years.Dr. Zink and her husband Bill are the parents of two young children.

    Joy Zaccardo, SPHR, SHRM-SCP
    Practice Manager

    Prior to joining Canfield Vet, Joy worked in both large corporations and small businesses in various financial and managerial roles.

    Originally from Schenectady, New York, Joy is a magna cum laude graduate of the College of St. Rose in Albany, New York, with a B.S. in business administration and a graduate of the well-regarded G.E. Financial Management Program. She is a certified senior professional in human resources and holds a certificate in human resources practices from Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations. Joy and her husband Greg have two children and live in Penfield, New York.

    Sue Hall, LVT
    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Sue Hall has been a technician for almost 30 years and has been with Canfield Vet since September 2001.

    Sue graduated from Delhi College in 1981. Her professional interests include dog and cat behavior. Sue has pursued this interest through many continuing education classes and seminars.Sue and Lee, her husband of 27 years, live in Naples with their two daughters--Jamie and Joelle. Also sharing their home is an assortment of pets, including three cats and three dogs.

    Dawn St. James
    Client Care Coordinator

    Dawn St. James joined the Canfield Vet family in 2007 to follow her love of animals.

    She enjoys getting to know the clients and pets that come to the hospital and has a special place in her heart for rescued animals.Dawn shares her home with two dogs adopted from animal shelters.
